Just Looking, 2024

I am intrigued by windows in a painting especially when people are looking out of them.  There's always a story - what is the person looking at, what is the person thinking, why is the person there, so many questions to be asked.  This painting was inspired by a trip to Rome, in particular the Vatican.  But what really drew me to paint this was the length on her neck as she looks out the window.  I love the easy, sans souci vibe she gives, down to the T-shirt and ear plugs - in her own world, contemplating - "just looking".
